Experience

1987 - PR         TECHNE KRAFT, d/b/a … an architectural and interiors studio

                          Role: Architect - Designer - Engineering - CA -- Builder - Business

To explore historical meaning, context, materials, and building form, all

the while, incorporating the client’s needs, budget, and an Integrated-                                                engineering basis to create places with interesting space and “well”

                          function.

… firmly on its way to being the third reliever airport for Chicago O’Hara

is Gary-Chicago Airport. Techne Kraft has completed the architectural

and engineering design services for several projects over the last 15-

                          years, including in 2014 a $3,400,000 FBO & Tenant Hangar for B.

Coleman Aviation; in 2006 the $1.6 million Administration Office and

Snow Removal Equipment additions to the existing SRE building; in

2011 the design for a new $1.3 million electrical vault; and in 1999 the

$9,000,000 CM-delivered Hangar (with rapid open hangar doors).

… conceptual design in 2012, an Urban Infill project for the Swatara Area

of Hershey, PA. The challenge was to develop a small lot and existing

one-story studio affected by zoning and high price-per-foot. With no

allowable building area remaining it became a vertical urban tower,

similar to late-medieval Europe in Italy. It created a first floor studio, a

second floor living space, and a third floor bedroom, with roof access.

Fitting, as Hershey was known for its Italian immigrant population and

                          iconic imagery.

… finished in the spring of 2007, Freeman Field’s New GA Terminal is

more than an administration center, a public meeting space, and a waystation

for passengers and pilots. Its imagery pays tribute to the historic

past of this airport, which was an advanced pilot training station during

WWII. With a tight budget of $731,000, and though the restaurant space

was not completed, this facility is probably one of my favorite

                          accomplishments in idea and function.
